Decanter’s experts praised the vibrancy and freshness during their recent panel tasting of the Bolgheri 2010 and 2011 wines, but especially those from the 2010 vintage.
One of the conclusions made during this tasting is that buyers need not be afraid of drinking these new vintages too young. At 95/100, the Tenuta San Guido, Sassicaia, Bolgheri Sassicaia 2010 was the top-rated wine in the line-up, described as an extraordinary wine that is elegant and has ‘amazing consistency’.
Capturing only the positive character of the vintage, the wine is often admired for being ‘delicate without losing structure’ and ‘ripe without losing freshness’, two essential character traits of a fine wine. Crowned 96/100 by Neal Martin of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, Wine Cellar currently has the Sassicaia 2010 in stock at R1,950 per bottle. View our Italian range of wines on Winecellar.co.za.
