In case you missed it on social media, we have revealed the 6 legendary winemakersthat will be sharing their stories at this year’s Young Guns.

First up, we have Pieter Walser of BLANKbottle, who is really the ultimate Young Gun and produces up to 50 different wines each year, all with unique labels and stories. Then Niels Verburg of Luddite who gained international success with his big ideas and big wines from the backwaters of Botriver. Then Duncan Savage who is now making incredibly successful wines from his new urban winery in Salt River, Cape Town. And then, of course, Adi Badenhorst whose vision and creative persona seem to transcend fine wine.

What about David Niewoudt of Cederberg who’s produced fine wines for 2 decades high up in the Cederberg – the most remote wine region in SA? But there’s no doubt that the highlight of the evening will be the legend of legends, Mr Pinotage himself, Beyers Truter of Beyerskloof. Oom Beyers is certainly young at heart. He works as hard as ever, even making wine in Ethiopia, and continues to promote Pinotage as our national heritage.
