The 44th annual Nederburg Charity Auction raised an unbelieved R1,2 million for this year’s charity beneficiary, the Nelson Mandela Foundation. The Charity Auction was held during a gourmet dinner braai on the Friday evening where not even the cold weather could hold bidders back.

‘Going once, going twice…’ and with those words, Roland got bidders digging deep into their pockets to support the worthy cause of early childhood development. The funds will be used to support the advancement of children’s programmes in the Cape Winelands and further afield. The Nelson Mandela Foundation, involved with childhood development, will focus these programmes within the most disadvantaged communities.

‘There are many children who have no access to any kind of child developmental programmes and we are excited that the funds raised here will go a long way towards making a positive impact to the lives of children in the Cape Winelands and South Africa in general,’ said Bridgitte Blackman from Distell, when thanking the generous bidders and donors from this year’s event.

This is an improvement on last year’s unprecedented donations and the bar will continue to rise year after year for these worthy causes. To read the full story, visit www.nederburgauction.co.za.
