Lukas Van Loggerenberg is one of SA’s most exciting new winemakers. He has just been named 2018 Young Winemaker of the Year by Tim Atkin. Arguably his most important wine was his first release of the Break a Leg in 2016. It was essential in getting his fledgling winery on the go. Available only in small quantities, the previous vintages sold out in a flash.

The newly released 2018 Break a Leg Cinsaut Blanc de Noir is a pitch-perfect ‘Côtes de Provence’ style rosé and is right on trend. With summer approaching, now is the time to stock up! It is light and fragrant with a citrusy nose, following on to a savoury, moreish and bone-dry palate. Utterly delicious!

At the moment, rosé is an international phenomenon and it is great to finally see wine of this ilk and done so well. Lukas and his wines are fast gaining a huge following. Please email James@winecellar.co.za to be added to the allocation list for any of his new releases.

Tasting notes:

Van Loggerenberg Wines, Break a Leg Blanc de Noir 2018
Made from 100% Cinsaut. Super light with just 12% alc. This rosé has refreshing citrus peel on the nose with shy, backward fruit and a hint of florals. The exquisitely balanced palate is bone-dry, salty and thirst quenching. – James Pietersen (October 2018)
