Anysbos is a newly established Bot River property owned by Johan and Sue Heyns. Their maiden releases are crackers with both the Anysbos Grenache Noir 2016 and Disdit White 2017 scoring 95/100 from Greg Sherwood MW.

This is a passion-driven project focused on Grenache Noir and, together with the expert winemaking skills of Marelise Niemann of Momento Wines, the aim is to produce small-batch wines that not only reflect the region but, most importantly, are sustainable and water-wise. We have a very limited amount of each available so grab some while you can!

The 2016 Anysbos Grenache Noir is wonderfully measured with an assured balance between red and dark fruit with spicy edges. It’s medium-bodied but not lacking in power. With its lingering fynbos imprint, there is clearly a great future for this style of Grenache Noir here.

The 2017 Anysbos Disdit White is a complex, layered white blend with florals, texture and a generous but balanced palate. This is a great addition to SA’s fine white wine landscape. Only 400+ bottles produced.

Anysbos, Grenache Noir 2016 
Super complex and expressive nose that is very precise, detailed and perfumed with notes of cherry confit, botanicals, vermouth spice and a striking line of blood orange and pomegranate spice. The balance and weight are super fine, concentrated and harmonious, quite discreet and feminine in its own kind of way. If this is the quality Marelise has achieved with her maiden Anysbos vintages, it makes the mind boggle at the end game potential. Really delicious! – Greg Sherwood MW, 95/100

A touch of reduction before red and black fruit, herbs and spice on the nose. The palate shows concentrated fruit and spritely acidity before a savoury finish – hangs together really well. – Christian Eedes, 91/100

Anysbos, Disdit White 2017 
A Chenin Blanc 61%, Roussanne 21% and Grenache Blanc 18% blend fermented with natural yeasts and aged 10 months in old oak barrels. Wonderfully opulent and expressive from the first pour over flowing with aromatic notes of tangerine, sweet pineapple pastille and green apple peel. So voluptuous, generous and fleshy with superb textural balance, impressive fruit concentration and a singing blood orange and mango flesh finish! Very impressive. – Greg Sherwood MW, 95+/100

61% Chenin Blanc, 21% Roussanne and 18% Grenache Blanc. White and yellow fruit, earth and spice on the nose. Rich and broad on the palate – generous fruit, coated acidity and some tannic texture, the finish long and dry. Only 460 bottles made. – Christian Eedes, 94/100
