2025 AIP – SA’s Most Attractive Fine Wine Portfolio

Mar 3, 2025 | All, International wines, Local wines | 0 comments

Our AIP is back! This incredible basket of wines is ready to go. We have added exciting new names that don’t usually make it into our portfolios, while keeping the core focus on intrinsic quality and maturation potential. Considering there are zero management fees and the AIP includes two years of free cellaring, it has to be the most cost effective and attractive fine wine portfolio in South Africa. Combining Young Guns with established properties, there are wines that can be enjoyed in the short term as well as cellared for the long term. The list includes Porseleinberg 2021 (99 TA), Rall Syrah 2023 (97 CE), Lukas Van Loggerenberg’s Graft 2022 (97 NM), and Le Riche Reserve Cabernet 2019 (96 CE).

The table below illustrates the value of this portfolio four years ago compared to what you’d pay to buy the same wines now at maturity (IF you could find all of them on the market).

‘I can assure you, South African wines stand today as the best value in the world for price per quality ratio. As I have been saying for years, buy them now before the prices increase, and I have already seen prices starting to creep up.’ – Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

2025 AIP is the simplest and most efficient way for consumers and collectors alike to add to their South African fine wine collections.

Executive Summary:

  • Portfolio cost is R50 000 per unit.
  • 21 different wines from 20 producers, consisting of 96 bottles.
  • The list includes some of South Africa’s most esteemed producers, including Boekenhoutskloof, Damascene, Le Riche, Mullineux, Porseleinberg and Savage.
  • Two years of free cellaring is included in the portfolio. This equates to R4 752 worth of professional wine storage. After the two years, standard cellaring rates apply.
  • Considering the free cellaring and market value of the wines, the price on offer is a 9.5% discount to the value offered.
  • Zero management fees.
  • As the wines are your property, they are available as per the normal withdrawal protocol.

Wine Cellar’s first AIP, the 2018 AIP, was offered in October 2018 at R40 000 per unit and has since gained 116%.
