Henri Boillot 2021
FROM R 675 PER BOTTLE
Blink and you’ll miss it! Henri Boillot is one of the highlights from the 2021 vintage out of Burgundy. The superstar domaine is still on the rise with Jasper Morris writing that they’re ‘a rare domain which succeeds equally with both red and white wines.’ Due to the classical nature of the 2021 vintage, no new oak was used on either the reds or whites, allowing the vineyard sites to express themselves fully. Most have sold out during our Burgundy Privé campaign but you have an opportunity to grab the last few bottles now!
Olifantsberg Grenache Rosé 2023
R 135 PER BOTTLE
This awesomely serious Rosé was created by Elizma Visser, Tim Atkin’s Young Winemaker of the Year in 2021. Grenache is being used more frequently for Rosé in South Africa and this is a prime example. The 2023 Olifantsberg Rosé ticks all the boxes with bright strawberries, orange rind, dried fynbos, and spice with a refreshing tannic grip. It pairs easily with tapas, or take it along to your next picnic in the park before the cooler days are upon us.
Keet First Verse 2020
R 670 PER BOTTLE
Chris Keet is a master winemaker and the First Verse 2020 is pitch-perfect with double 96 points from Tim Atkin MW and Christian Eedes. This is a classic, powerful Keet red, with complex aromatics, sumptuous black fruit, spice and elegant, fine-grained tannins. As Eedes writes, it ‘manages to be immediately appealing but simultaneously possessing the necessary to mature with benefit’.
GD Vajra Rosabella Rosato 2022
R 265 PER BOTTLE
The Rosabella Rosato is a delectable blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto which happens to be from one of our favourite Piedmontese families, GD Vajra. It is floral with notes of wild berries, a lick of spice and a citrusy, creamy, light tannin finish. Complex, yet easy-going, it is summery, fresh and oh-so-seductive at R265 – a no-brainer.
