Time: 12h00 for 12h30

We’re delighted to announce a 6-vintage vertical lunch with Domaine des Comtes Lafon’s revered Meursault 1er Cru Charmes. At its best, white Burgundy combines power with ethereal delicacy, and the godfather of white Burgundy – Dominique Lafon – has mastered both. Join Wine Cellar and winelab. at Peter Tempelhoff’s Beyond Restaurant in Constantia on Friday the 19th of April for a 4-course lunch. Champagne on arrival will be followed by 3 courses served with the 6 vintages poured in pairs: 2020, 2019, 2016, 2015, 2008 and 2005. The final course will be served with magnums from Dominique’s biodynamic property in the Mâconnais – Héritiers du Comtes Lafon.

Loire Legends: Huet & Moulin Touchais with special guest, Richard Kelley MW – R875

Cape Town: Wednesday, 24 April, Wine Cellar Observatory

Time: 18h00 – 19h30

Sip Chenin with Wine Cellar and Richard Kelley MW as we take a deep dive into Chenin from two of the masters, Huet and Moulin Touchais. We’ll be pouring 15 wines from 1964 to 2022Domaine Huet is revered for mineral-styled, long-ageing wines that will ‘silence a dinner party with awe and wonderment’, says Neal Martin. He continues, ‘No matter the site or the sweetness level, there is an ethereal and elegant quality to these wines that defies scientific analysis.’ Established in 1787, Moulin Touchais may have the largestmost impressive back-vintage offering on earth. Their 15km-long, underground cellars house roughly two million bottles – with some wines dating back to the 1850s.
