Today we’re thrilled to present the finest list of international wines to be assembled in South Africa. Low production volumes and tightly controlled distribution often make the world’s greatest wines inaccessible. However, as Wine Cellar has been trading in the finest wines for more than two decades, we’ve managed to secure a basket of ultra-rare international icons, with mature vintages dating back to the early 20th century!
Highlights include multiple bottlings of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, six vintages of Petrus, seven vintages of Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Mouton Rothschild 1954 and 1956, a selection from Californian producer Sine Qua Non, and 115-year-old bottles from Sauternes legend Château d’Yquem. The list also includes a smattering of Australian, Italian and Spanish gems.
Though some listings are accompanied by eyewatering prices, the reality is that these hallowed wines are usually unattainable in single bottles given their rare and sought-after nature. Considering international pricing averages, many are priced below what the international market will pay, offering a unique opportunity for South African fine wine enthusiasts to acquire single bottles at relatively compelling prices. All wines have been independently authenticated and provenance is sound.
