We’re excited to announce the release of Stark-Condé’s highly anticipated 2022 vintage – a significant milestone for the farm, as this is the first year that their entire range has been certified organic. The collection represents the finest expressions of Jonkershoek Valley terroir.
The Stark-Condé team produce three unique Cabernet Sauvignons. Their Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon is classy, poised and plush, representing incredible value, while the outstanding Three Pines hails from a unique outcrop that celebrates Jonkershoek typicity. The star is the Oude Nektar – a high-altitude vineyard at the apex of this property, producing one of the best Cab-based wines in Stellenbosch. All three of these releases are exceptional.
The story of Stark-Condé is one of passion and heritage. South African Hans Schroder and his Japanese wife, Midori Maruyama, acquired the Oude Nektar property in 1989. Their daughter Marie and her American husband, José Conde, later joined them in South Africa. José left behind a career in graphic design, dedicating himself to winemaking, with a particular focus on Cabernet Sauvignon. The Stark-Condé name pays tribute to Hans’ mother, Franziska Stark, while ‘Condé’ is a nod to José’s Cuban parentage.
