Kanonkop is one of the greatest red wine producers in Stellenbosch and the Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is your final chance to add a wine from this iconic vintage to your cellar. Backed by the estate’s pedigree and built to last for decades, it offers excellent value for serious collectors.

Tasting the Kanonkop Cabs back to the eighties last night further solidified the longevity of this wine. This is the benchmark of Stellenbosch Cabernet, available at this special price for a limited time only.

The 2021 is a wine of power, precision and perfectly judged oaking. It’s cassis-soaked, with plums and dried herbs adding freshness and verve to a very complex wine. The tannins are tightly knit, long and properly moreish.

For us, their Cabernet sits at the heart of the portfolio. It’s a wine to drink, collect and share. The magnums are particularly worth considering – offering even more pleasure around the table.

Tasting Notes:

Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

‘The class of the 2021 vintage really shines through on this (almost) varietal Simonsberg Cabernet Sauvignon, made by Abrie Beeslaar. Blended with 10% Merlot and aged in 50% new wood, it’s a sappy, intense red from warmer, north-facing vineyards, with lots of structure and freshness, layers of coffee bean, plum and cassis and the backbone to age further in bottle.’ – Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2025, 96/100
